The number one CDC recommendation to
prevent infection is frequent handwashing
with soap and water for 20-30 seconds. If
soap and water is not available,
hand sanitizers are also useful.

washing, visit the Hand

Cleaning Procedures and Chemicals
The EPA says that
registered influenza A virus products will be
effective against the 2009-H1N1 (swine flu)
and other influenza A virus
strains
On 5/1/09 we received an email from
Envirox stating that "EPA believes, based
on available scientific information, that the currently
registered influenza A virus products will be effective
against the 2009-H1N1 flu strain
and other influenza A virus strains.
We suggest that you use disinfectants and
virucides with kill claims against “like” viruses
such as Influenza A, Avian Influenza and other
Porcine viruses as part of your regular
procedures.
For safe and effective use of these products, always
follow the label instructions, paying special attention to
the product's dilution rate (if applicable) and contact
time.
